Chef Lisa Sanders Receives Accolades as a Leading Chef in the Senior Living Industry
In an era when many talented female chefs are rising to the top of their trade, Fox Run at Orchard Park and Morrison Living are proud to congratulate Executive Chef Lisa Sanders on her recent national recognition as a top chef in the senior living industry. Compass Group, the parent company of Morrison Living and the world’s leading food-service company, awarded Chef Lisa first place in the Women in Culinary Competition. She was also named a Compass Chef of the Year and placed second in the Morrison Living Food Fight competition.
Compass Group began the Women in Culinary program this year as a way to highlight leading women in a typically male-dominated profession. The program kicked off with the 2019 Women in Culinary Competition, which featured 21 chefs from Compass Group companies all over the United States competing for the top spot. Chef Lisa was named the inaugural first place winner.
To receive the title of Compass Chef of the Year, chefs receive nominations from both leadership and online voting open to the general public. Over 3,400 people voted this year, including colleagues, patrons, senior living Community Members, and staff. Chef Lisa was one of three chefs to receive the coveted Chef of the Year title. She earned an exclusive invitation to an immersive culinary experience with José Andrés’ Think Food Group team in Washington D.C., which includes tours of Think Food Lab and Michelin Star restaurant – minibar by José Andrés.
