Fox Run Health Center Skilled Nursing

Fox Run at Orchard Park is happy to report that we have zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 amongst our Skilled Nursing Residents and staff. We are thankful that those Residents and staff who tested positive in September and October were able to come off quarantine protocols. 

Skilled Nursing Residents and staff were tested for COVID-19 on 10.12.2021 and 10.14.2021, all results are negative. 

Fox Run is saddened to report that six of our well loved and respected Skilled Nursing Community Members have passed away recently, regardless of existing medical conditions, they will be considered a COVID-19 related death. Our deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of these beloved Community Members.  

Outside and indoor visitation are open.  Please continue reading for rules on visitation.

All visitors must follow the guidelines for INDOOR VISITS:

  • All visitors must wear a mask at all times, no matter if they are vaccinated or not
  • ALL visits are by appointment ONLY and scheduled with the Activities Department, 716.508.2157
  • When arriving on the Fox Run campus, all visitors must enter through the Health Center main entrance to be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19
  • Once approved, all indoor visitors will go directly to the Resident’s private room, or designated meeting room
  • There is a limit of two visitors for one 60-minute indoor visit, and one visitor must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Visitors cannot travel through the Health Center or walk the hallways
  • Food and beverages are not allowed
  • All visitors must use hand sanitizer before and after their visit
  • Please call the Activities Department at 716.508.2157 to schedule your visit, must be scheduled at least 24-hours in advance
    • Visitation hours are:
      • Monday-Friday, 10:00am–5:00pm 
      • Saturday, 10:15am–1:30pm  
  • Any visitor unable to adhere to the above guidelines will be asked to leave 

All visitors must follow the guidelines for OUTSIDE VISITS:

  • When arriving at the Fox Run campus, all visitors must enter through the Health Center main entrance to be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 
  • Outside visitation is encouraged, weather permitting.  
  • Outside seating is available for visits at the Health Center Rehabilitation entrance, on a patio overlooking the Bocce Court, as well as numerous benches across our campus to enjoy some quality time with your loved one
  • All visitors, whether vaccinated or not, are encouraged to wear a face mask covering both nose and mouth
  • All visitors must use hand sanitizer before and after their visit
  • Please call the Activities Department at 716.508.2157 to schedule your outside on-campus visit, please give at least 24-hour notice
    • Current visitation hours are:
      • Monday-Friday, 10:00am–5:00pm 
      • Saturday, 10:15am–1:30pm  
  • For outdoor off-campus visits please call the Nursing Station

  • Any visitor unable to adhere to the above guidelines will be asked to leave

Families taking Health Center Residents off-campus must be mindful of the potential risks, especially if they have not been fully vaccinated.  Fox Run recommends the utilization of masks and proper hand hygiene during the outing.  If a Resident comes into contact with someone who is ill with COVID-19, or becomes ill after an outing, a rapid test will be performed on the Resident. Any known contact with COVID-19 must be reported to the Health Center Administrator Ally Olsen, immediately. Please scroll down for contact information. 

Any new case of COVID-19 among Residents will immediately result in Resident COVID-19 testing and suspend visitation per NYSDOH.  Visitation will be suspended until at least one round of testing is completed.  If this testing reveals no additional cases, visitation will resume for all Residents except the positive case.          

Any new case of COVID-19 among staff will immediately result in testing and suspend visitation per NYSDOH.  Visitation will be suspended until at least one round of testing is completed.  If this testing reveals no additional cases, visitation will resume for all Residents except the affected hallway where that staff worked.  

In both of the above cases, visitors will be notified about the potential for COVID-19 exposure.  If testing reveals one or more COVID-19 positive cases, visitation will be suspended to all Residents until Fox Run meets NYSDOH guidelines to allow for visitation to resume

NYSDOH was at Fox Run on Thursday, 9.16.2021, for an Infection Control Survey for Skilled Nursing.  NYSDOH inspected and reviewed all of Fox Run’s Resident care, equipment, COVID-19 testing protocols, COVID-19 policies and procedures, among many other things in regards to our recent positive cases. NYSDOH found no deficiencies and Fox Run is in compliance with all current guidelines and regulations. 

All Fox Run staff must wear masks and proper PPE at all times.  Fox Run is in full compliance with the New York State vaccine mandate.

Fox Run Assisted Living & Memory Care

Fox Run at Orchard Park is happy to report zero confirmed positive cases for COVID-19 in our Assisted Living & Memory Care Communities.  The Memory Care Residents and staff that tested positive in September, have come off isolation protocols. Memory Care and Assisted Living visitation is open.  

NYSDOH conducted an Infection Control Survey in the Fox Run Health Center Assisted Living and Memory Care on Wednesday, 9.29.2021.  NYSDOH inspected the conditions, observed care, inspected protocols and policies regarding COVID-19, and they found no violations. NYSDOH stated that Fox Run is in substantial compliance with all the regulations for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaccine Information

The flu vaccine clinic for Fox Run Community Members and staff was successfully completed on Friday, 10.15.2021 through the Visiting Nurses Association with Kaleida Health. 

Fox Run is in full compliance with the New York State vaccine mandate. 

Fox Run is also currently working with Buffalo Pharmacies to host a COVID-19 booster clinic for Community Members and staff. It is scheduled for Thursday, 10.28.2021 in the Fox Run Michael J. Fox Run is pleased to report that our vaccination rate is 99% for Fox Run Community Members.  Fox Run has partnered with Buffalo Pharmacies, Inc. to provide the COVID-19 vaccine for all new and unvaccinated Fox Run Community Members and staff who wish to receive the vaccine.  

Fox Run contracted with Walgreens Pharmacy to conduct a campus wide vaccination clinic in January of 2021.  Walgreens Pharmacy delivered and administered the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to Skilled Nursing Community Members and staff on 1.15, 2.5 and 2.26.2021.  The three vaccination dates for the Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care were 1.26, 2.16, and 3.9.2021 respectfully. 

Hair Salon Services

Fox Run has two full service salons; one each in the Commons building and in the Health Center.  The salon in the Health Center is currently closed.  

All infection control protocols and standards are in place. The salon services are by appointment only.   Please call Shari Barry at 716.508.2137 (The Commons Salon) or 716.508.2186 (The Health Center Salon) to book an appointment.  Please leave a detailed message if no one answers.

Fox Run Independent Living (Commons Building, Arbor View Apartments & Patio Homes)

Fox Run is in full compliance with the New York State vaccine mandate.

Mask Requirements

Fully vaccinated Independent Living Community Members DO NOT have to wear a mask, but are encouraged to wear one.  All unvaccinated Independent Living Community Members must wear a mask.  

At this time visitors are not permitted to congregate in Fox Run common areas and dining venues. Visitors are permitted in Fox Run apartments and patio homes with a mask, whether vaccinated or not.  

All Fox Run staff must wear a mask when in all common areas.

In-person Visitation for Independent Living

Visitors are not permitted to congregate in the Fox Run common areas or dining venues. Visitors are permitted in individual apartments & patio homes.  All must check in first at the AccuShield kiosk in the Commons Building and must wear a mask at all times.  

All visitors must follow these important guidelines:

(Independent Living Community Members are responsible for ensuring all guidelines & protocols are followed by their visitors) 

  • All visitors are required to wear a mask, whether they are vaccinated or not
  • All visitors (including outdoor visitors) must first check-in at the Commons reception desk kiosk
  • At check-in, a temperature check will be taken (to ensure it’s below 100℉) and each visitor must fill out a health questionnaire. If approved, a ‘visitor day pass’ will be issued

Travel Advisory

Fox Run visitors who travel are still encouraged to be tested for COVID-19 before visiting our campus, but it is not required.

Dining Services

The Bistro (informal dining) is open for continental breakfast and a limited lunch menu for in-person dining Monday through Saturday.  The Oak Room (formal dining) is open for in-person dining but no table wait staff service Mondays through Saturday.  The Acorn Club (private dining) and The Fox’s Den (pub) are closed until further notice.  Fox Run is offering complimentary delivery for the dinner meal until further notice.  Please call 716.508.2142 to place your order. 

 

The Bistro:

A La’ Carte Continental Breakfast: Monday–Saturday, 8:00am–10:00am  

Limited Lunch Menu: Monday–Saturday, 11:30am–2:00pm  

Take-out or in-person dining in the Bistro; no delivery for breakfast & lunch

The Dinner Meal & Sunday Brunch in the Oak Room:

Once you receive your take-out dinner & brunch meal, and if you would like to dine with Community Members, you may take your meal into the Oak Room to sit and enjoy with friends. Unfortunately there is no table service.

Delivery Times:

Fox Run will continue to offer complimentary delivery and take-out for the dinner meals. All pre-ordered take-out meals will be ready for you to pick up at the main entrance of the Bistro at your desired time. 

All deliveries for dinner meals will be made between 4:30pm-5:00pm.

All deliveries for Sunday Brunch will be made between 11:00am-11:30am.

The Dining Services Team follows all NYSDOH guidelines.  Masks are encouraged but not required for Fox Run Community Members, however if a Community Member chooses to wear a mask in the dining room, once seated at their table, the mask should be placed in their lap and not on the table.

The Fox’s Market

The Fox’s Market:  Is a meal kit service created by the Fox Run Dining Services Team. This service provides an easy way for Fox Run Community Members & staff to cook their own innovative chef-like meals right at home. Each meal kit comes with a step-by-step recipe and all the ingredients needed, freshly packed and pre-portioned.

Fox Run Community Members may use their declining balance for one meal kit. Additional meals kits will be charged to the Resident’s monthly service fee statement. Staff, cash only please. 

To Order The Fox’s Market: The current weekly menu order forms will be distributed through in-house mailboxes every Sunday.  Additional order forms are available at the hostess stand. 

Please return all order forms to the hostess stand or by calling the Dining Services Department at 716.508.2142, by the deadline listed on the order form.

Fitness Classes

The Fitness Center is open. Community Members must sanitize the equipment before and after every use.

All of the fitness classes will broadcast in the Fitness Center, on the Fox Run in-house TV Channel 1390 and on the secure Google drive, information below.

Online Classes

Fox Run Community Members may access fitness classes online through a secure Google drive. These fitness videos can be watched at any time on your personal computer or device from the comfort of your own home.  

All 10 fitness classes are on the Google drive: Mat Pilates/Yoga, Pilates/Yoga, Advance Strength & Stretch, Strength & Stretch, and Gentle Seated. If you would like more information or access to these fitness videos, please contact the Director of Resident Services, contact information below.

Pool & Spa

The pool, hot tub and locker rooms including showers are open.

Religious Services

In-person religious services are available for Fox Run Community Members only.  All Community Members are encouraged to wear a mask but those who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask while in attendance through the entire service.

Catholic Mass is held every Saturday at 4:00pm, in the Michael J. Maloney Event Center.  

Ecumenical Service is held every Sunday at 4:00pm, also in the Michael J. Maloney Center.

Other Miscellaneous Information

  • For assistance with Instacart deliveries, please contact the Creative Arts Department at 716.508.2166
  • Grocery deliveries to Community Members living in the Arbor View apartments must be delivered to The Commons Building. Fox Run staff will call and ask the Community Member to come to the Commons reception desk to pick up their items.  If the Community Member is unable, Fox Run staff will deliver them
  • Deliveries to Community Members living in the Fox Run patio homes should go directly to the patio homes
  • The 1st & 3rd Fridays of every month Morning Coffee Hour will be in-person at 9:30am in the Michael J. Maloney Event Center, and it will broadcast live on Channel 1390 also at 9:30am
