In late January 2024, John and Pam Henrich decided to call Fox Run their new home, after 17 years in their Park Lane condo. They enjoyed nearly two decades of Buffalo events as active members of the Garret Club and the Tennis and Squash Club.

Flights, Family & Fine Arts

John and Pam have been married for 60 beautiful years and have four amazing children. Holding a piece of home close, the Henrichs are still in ownership of their residence at Echo Hill Farm in Eden, NY, where, alongside their children, they’ve raised horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and bunnies! The farm was established in the fall of 1967 and remains in the family today, with the couple’s youngest son and his family now living on Echo Hill, raising their children and Scottish Highland Beef Cattle.

John graduated from the Nichols School in Buffalo, went on to earn his Bachelor of Science at Princeton, his MBA at Harvard, and served in the U.S. Army. After retiring in the 1990s, John became a commercial pilot and started his own flight business with Pam training as a co-pilot, just as she has been by his side in life.

Pam earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts all while tending to her family, farm, community, and business. She took her talents even further as the head of the Arts Department at Buffalo Seminary, her alma mater, and teaching at Buffalo State College. As a certified kitchen designer, Pam also created additions to customers’ homes. Pam has been formally trained in all aspects of the arts, she is primarily a painter.

The Henrichs’ greatest joy is spending time with their 4 children and 10 grandchildren…they look forward to the future and great-grandbabies! They’re always excited about the idea of meeting new friends at Fox Run, so be sure to give them a warm, family welcome!

Recently, we sat down with John and Pam to ask them a few questions about their overall living experience here at Fox Run.

What do you love about Fox Run?

“There is no one who doesn’t say hello to you when you come in here. It is a place you can feel secure for the rest of your life, and you can feel really secure about your partner’s life—which is really important.”
– John

“It is a wonderful place to live out the natural process of life and know you will receive great care. There is a great effort to involve the Community in activities—all the events around Christmas time, for example—the place is almost hyperactive.”
– Pam

Why did you choose Fox Run?

“We were very fond of Michelle, who helped us out with sales and the move-in process. One of our sons lives in Orchard Park and the other lives in Eden, so we feel this is the perfect distance from each of them. After thinking about where some of our friends have gone, we were very disappointed to see they had no nature or outdoor campus. Assuring care for older residents, to take responsibility for their health out of their hands, and understand that everything will be taken care of.”

What do you tell your friends about Fox Run?

“We love ‘Big John,’ he is 6 ‘8’’, and Matt from maintenance. I love watching Matt do two things: working at the Christmas party serving wine and running the giant front loader machine in a snowstorm. Big John  can do anything—the maintenance people are very attentive to whatever you need, and can  do it faster and better than you can. Maintenance is instant, Matt himself helps out and comes to see you whenever you need. Killian, IT Coordinator, is incredible with senior citizens. He can ease so many frustrations with modern life living in the age of technology. Guests at our 60th anniversary could not get over the incredible quality of the meals and service. It surpassed all of their expectations—which does not happen often. The Bistro is incredible, cooks Lisa and Diane are absolutely incredible.  And actually all the employees are  fabulous!”

What would you tell a friend considering a move to Fox Run?

There are people in all stages of life here, who come from different backgrounds and professions, but there is a collegiality here that is really wonderful. The general tone of this place is so warm, so friendly, and so welcoming. The staff is just wonderful—thinking of our desires before we can even think of them. We feel not only lucky but privileged to be here.

It is very nice to have a cleaning service, as it ensures everyone in the building is healthy and safe. Bill, The Fox Run CEO, makes his presence very felt. He is obviously a leader and the employees are willing to go the extra mile when the going gets tough. Melissa, reception supervisor, for example, trekked through a snowstorm for 40-60 minutes to work the front desk—answering phones and calming  the fears of the residents. Laurie, the Wellness Nurse, is very attentive and helps residents very quickly. And Pamela, the lead receptionist, is a fan favorite amongst all the  Community Members, she is so knowledgeable and just fabulous!”

“When you see a Rolls Royce, you know it’s the finest car. Tiffany’s, you know it is the finest jewelry. When you see Fox Run—you know it is the finest senior care.”
