Orchard Park, NY – Fox Run at Orchard Park is excited to announce a new art exhibit called Painting Outdoors in Chautauqua is now open in their Community Art Gallery. The collection by artist Nancy Cerny of East Aurora, NY, includes colorful oil paintings of waterside landscapes and flowers. Cerny develops her artwork on-site outdoors before she heads into the studio. “I created most of these pieces at a weeklong retreat at the Chautauqua Institute. It’s a tradition for me and some of my closest art friends to go there together once a year,” explains Cerny. Growing up next door to her family’s flower shop in Wisconsin has also influenced her choice of subject.

Over 20 years ago, Cerny decided to leave her job as a Registered Nurse to pursue a career in art, a life-long passion of hers. After completing her Bachelor and Master Degrees in art education at The State University of New York at Buffalo, Cerny began teaching private art classes. While developing her craft, she built connections with local art organizations including the East Aurora Art Society, the Fine Arts League of WNY, and the WNY Artists Group. She plays an active role in the Buffalo Society of Artists and has served on their board for four years. Her artwork can be found in private collections, as well as represented at the Meibohm Fine Arts Gallery in East Aurora and The Art Dialog Gallery in Buffalo.

Painting Outdoors in Chautauqua is on display and open to the public, December 1st through February 28th. The Community Art Gallery is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm, Monday through Saturday. Visitors are asked to enter through the Commons Building and sign-in at the reception desk.
