Coming to Fox Run at Orchard Park from her 62-acre farm in East Aurora, NY, Judy Jackson treasured her views of the woods, the relaxing sounds of the stream, and her extensive perennial garden. Though originally difficult to leave her home amenities, once settled and meeting people at Fox Run, Judy describes her time as “serendipitous! My neighbor, just down the hall, was the designer and creator of many perennial gardens on the Fox Run campus! It just so happened she was looking for other gardening enthusiasts, so I transplanted my love of gardening to the Fox Run campus, and I found so many Community Members here that love the outdoors. They love gardening, they love dogs, and it just seemed like a natural fit.” Her family was wary at first about how Judy would adapt to the lifestyle change but soon discovered she has no regrets. “I just found so much support with the transition to Fox Run from everyone here. I jumped in and was happy from that day forward.”

Though Judy always has her eye on the outdoors, her first impression of Fox Run came straight from the staff. “My first meeting was with the marketing department, and it was just an instant match! They were so helpful and so patient, just in every way facilitative.” From that moment on, her transition to Fox Run became seamless as she noted, the marketing department seemed to love all the same things she did.

Judy’s constant companion, black lab Brooke, accompanied her in making the move to Fox Run as well. Judy cherishes the friendships she’s grown from meeting fellow dog and animal lovers sharing, “walking the dog not only keeps me healthy, but it’s a great way to make friends. Brooke is my front lady.” Judy’s joy in sharing her four-legged companion with friends and neighbors in the community proves as a kind of therapy, not only for herself but for everyone around her.
Another highlight Judy loves talking about is the personalized care from the staff members at Fox Run. “The staff at Fox Run just does an extraordinary job. The kitchen staff are superb, especially Chef Lisa; she is out of this world! Seasonal menu changes are always highlighted and dining services are always happy to make dietary adjustments. That’s one very important thing at Fox Run—it’s a very personalized place to live.”
